Peace

Thâi indicates that (in the state which it symbolizes) there will be little coming and great going. There will be good fortune, and success. The first NINE, undivided, shows the pulling up of the grass, with its roots and the sod connected with it. The movement will be fortunate. The second NINE, undivided, shows the capacity of dealing with the wild (people) on all sides, and of not showing partiality. Its subject is able to cross the great stream. He pursues the path of the Mean, and will obtain good fortune. The third NINE, undivided, shows that there may be a level and easy course, but it will be an occasion for painful apprehension. (The rule is that) 'No going away is without its return.' (The subject of the line) is thus warned, and there will be no error. The fourth SIX, divided, shows (its subject) fluttering down, not relying on his own rich resources, but calling in his neighbours. (The movement is) not proved to be wrong. The fifth SIX, divided, shows the sovereign Î (or Ti) giving his daughter to be married. (He gives his daughter) in such a way that she enriches (the whole kingdom). There will be good fortune. The topmost SIX, divided, shows the wall returning into the moat it had filled. The (present) army will be disbanded, and its (former) commander ignominiously discharged. (The subject of the line) will, if he warn (his fellow-underlings), have to lay down his arms and quit his post.
